Brahma, Rudra & Maheshwara

Horoscope Case Study

Role of Brahma, Rudra and Maheshwara

Brahma and Maheswara are two key concepts in Ayur Jyotish. We know that in Hindu Pantheon, the Trinity, Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara Create, Sustain and Annihilate respectively. Thus the concept of Brahma as creator and Maheswara as the liberator are used in some key Ayur Dasas such as Brahma, Sthira, Shoola dasa etc. Though their importance is high, many do not venture into finding them as they turn out to be little complicated. I tried to make this little easier to understand and compute. With hard work and patience, this can be learnt and applied in Ayur Jyotisha.

I will not describe how to calculate which Planet in a Vedic Horoscope assumes the role of Brahma, Rudra and Maheshwara. Once again, different schools of thought have variations in deciding which Planet will gain importance and role mentioned above. Suffice to say that, majority of astrologers are NOT taught the intricacies of system and then many who do learn this subject, do NOT venture into predicting death – this can have a negative impact on clients.

However, this system gains importance in Mundane astrology too where the duration of a Government, cabinet ministers can be discovered and defined with precision. For instance the Office of the President of the United States is limited to a four year term. This may be extended to one more term. Of course, there is every possibility that a Presidency may come to an abrupt end when the nation loses its President while in office.

Alternately, there are situations where this system gains utmost importance to calculate when and how death may befall a native. Trust me when I say, that, most clients who do wish to know about their death – these are the ones really scared to die and do NOT take inputs discovered in a calm fashion. First and foremost expression is that of despair, loneliness, rejection and surrender. Everybody knows that one whomsoever takes birth, has to die one day. But, the very thought of death creeping on a native gives shivers down the spine of many.

The wise astrologer will never reveal the exact time of death, he/she will study certain hints within a horoscope that can be helpful while delivering dreadful news. Of course there are other calculations too which may confirm discoveries by this method.

As a case study, I will be taking the chart of a well-known personality and leave it to the well informed reader to judge how and when death had an icy grip on the native. The chart belongs an activist, a relentless activist who exposes many a clandestine and shady practice in food, and medical industry in India. Even today, people listen to his lectures strewn thru youtube channel. Being a lone activist against corporations and big business houses is not a path for the meek and the weak, it calls for a greater amount of bravado. I came across his horoscope thru a common colleague who is a family friend to the native. I had the opportunity to speak to family members and confirm my discoveries.

Death Inflicting Dasa- Antardasa:

  1. Longevity extends from Brahma to Maheswara.
  2. During the Brahma dasa of the sign having Mahesvara the antardasa will be of a sign in trines to the sign occupied by the eighth lord from Maheswara.
  3. The strongest of the lords of the 3rd, 6th, 8th & 12th houses from atmakaraka becomes the maraka.
  4. Generally, the 6th lord is death inflictor.
  5. The dasa of the sign occupied or aspected (or in trines) for the death inflictor furnishes the last period of life.
  6. The antardasa could be of the signs in the 6th, 7th, 8th or 12th from the death inflictor dasa sign.

RD natal

Birth details have been withheld on express request of relatives of the native. Let me list planets which assumed the role of Brahma, Rudra and Maheshwara in his chart.

RD J

Using rules mentioned above for death inflicting Dasa and Antar Dasa –

  1. Longevity extends from Brahma (Venus) to Maheswara (Mercury).
  2. During the Brahma dasa of the sign having Mahesvara the antardasa will be of a sign in trines to the sign occupied by the eighth lord from Maheswara. The 8th lord from Maheshwara (Mercury) is once again Venus as Mercury occupies Libra – the ascendant sign in his horoscope! The 8th sign from Libra is that of Taurus owned by Venus!
  3. The strongest of the lords of the 3rd, 6th, 8th & 12th houses from atmakaraka becomes the maraka. Saturn (Occupying Aquarius) is the Atma Karaka in his horoscope, so, the list will be Mars, Moon, Mercury and Saturn himself!
  4. Generally, the 6th lord is death inflictor. The 6th lord in his horoscope is a retrograde Jupiter. Jupiter is exalted in the 10th house of Cancer. So, his enemies will be extremely well placed and capable of murder!
  5. The dasa of the sign occupied or aspected (or in trines) for the death inflictor furnishes the last period of life.
  6. The antardasa could be of the signs in the 6th, 7th, 8th or 12th from the death inflictor dasa sign.

RD Varshaphala

As you can see above, the Tajaka (Solar Return) horoscope has the same ascendant sign, Libra, as the natal. When the Annual Solar Return chart has the same Rising sign as the Natal Chart, the year ahead becomes as Dwijanma Year for the native. The native will suffer during the ensuing year.

By Vimshottari Dasa period, death for him was during Mercury->Moon->Saturn->Saturn->Saturn.

His annual Mudda Dasa was Venus->Ketu->Mercury.

Bhava Tithi Principle

Horoscope Case Study

This post is all about rare techniques from remedial section of Vedic Astrology. A technique which calculates a Tithi (lunar date) for a house in horoscope is discussed below – I will also be sharing a horoscope of a child with Autism!

  1. The technique is –
Observe Sun’s position in horoscope. Calculate Moon’s position from Sun – as in exact degrees.
  2. Having calculated degrees above, multiply this figure with concerned house (counted from ascendant). For instance – finance will be second house, siblings – 3, education, home, mother – 4, ………… likewise spouse, marriage will be 7 and so on and so forth.
  3. For an Autistic child the 4th house is important, as it also relates to education and mental buildup – other significations of 4th house is mother, vehicles, properties and so on. If a native has dysfunctional health, we will take the lagna (1), if the native has lack of mobility, we will take the 9th  house (legs), 12th house (feet). In present example am presenting the case with Bhava Tithi Calculation for fourth house.
  4. Divide figure obtained above under (3) by 12 – a Tithi is equivalent to Moon being 12 degrees away from Sun. Dwitiya Tithi will be 12×2=24 degrees. Calculate Tithi and then prescribe remedies.

Let me explain with a horoscope –

aut at ja

Here in this case Sun is @ 28deg 38min 17sec in Virgo. Moon is at 24deg 41min 05sec Scorpio. Now for the calculation part –

Deg—Min–Sec
24deg 41min 05sec
30deg 00min 00sec – for Libra
01deg 21min 43sec – this is balance left over in Virgo for Sun
—————-
56deg 02min 48sec – this is total of above

Now dividing this by 12 we get to see that 4 Tithis have lapsed and the 5th was running (12degx4=48deg). So, for this child the Tithi applicable to the 4th house in horoscope is the Panchami or 5th Tithi in Shukla Paksha – Bright half of Moon. If the total had exceeded 180 – the tithi would have been in Krishna Paksha or Dark half of Moon.

As a general rule, Tithis 1-6 are delay causing. Tithis calculated above between 7-10 – remedies are compulsory. Tithis 11-15 can deny results altogether.

The parents of this child were advised to pray to their Kula Devta – every Indian Hindu household knows their Kula Devta – the deity that presides over their family ancestry – they visited their native village, located their Kula Devta temple in shambles – repaired it and offered prayers. The child is showing signs of progress

Missing Person – A case study

Horoscope Case Study

Case of a missing land dealer

There are various shades of property dealers, many deal with rental properties, some deal with new construction, some are into re-sale of property, and still very rare are those persons who deal with land. This case relates to a gentleman of the last category who rose to dizzying heights of success over land deals. He had a knack of sort of ‘cracking the deal’ and getting land for builders who will use his services to acquire land for building new buildings. This dealer had expanded into land dealing where clandestine deals were also required, and as you might have guessed it, this also involved working hand in glove with underworld and unscrupulous politician cum land grabbers who excelled in this area.

One fine day in May 2012 I received an urgent call from a known acquaintance who was himself into property deals and knew the above mentioned person, maybe family relations too. The call was to quickly arrive with all tools of my astrology trade and visit him in his office. When I visited him, about four people were already in the office. My friend, his uncle, another person from their trade and one more gentleman were in attendance. The case was of a missing person. Our gentleman from the first para had suddenly gone missing and I was introduced to a family member who was extremely disturbed because the property dealer never left without informing his family.

Without much ado I cast a Prashna [horary] chart, asked for missing person’s natal chart, did some calculations and announced my observations. Much to everyone’s surprise I announced that I had my doubts that our gentleman was alive at the moment when I cast the prashna? I raised a query whether there were any outstanding debts to which I received a confirmation that, yes, this was part and parcel of such trade and transactions were intermingled with funds from one transaction often paid as fees for another transaction. To my surprise my friend informed me, that, for this missing person to dish out few million dollars in Indian currency was child’s play and I could judge monumental trade he was involved?

At this point, the sole occupant of my friend’s office whose identity was not revealed, suddenly, he replied back with statement which negated my observations. He was from a very famous Ashram and wearing over a dozen of Rudraksh rosaries around his neck. He started babbling out obscure references to Sanskrit Mantras and said that my observations were in error and within a week’s time we should expect missing person’s return.

Natal Chart: birth time altered to conceal real birth time

N missing person updated

All of this cast a doubt, a doubt every mathematician has over calculations – I rechecked my calculations and humbly announced that we should expect ‘news’ about his death in a week’s time, but there were NO doubts over him having survived current planetary transits. The meeting ended with a debate over who was right and who was in error? I returned back with a heavy heart and almost risked my profession over something which could change if birth time was in error.

Below is Solar Return or Tajaka chart for above person

N missing person varsha phala 2012

About ten days later my friend called up to narrate another sad story of having received news that our land dealer guy was indeed murdered over professional debts and double crossing where hired goons had indeed kidnapped him, and slaughtered him. Parts of his body were discovered by the police after paying hefty sum as ransom over a dead person! Just like all other high profile cases this too was hushed up and never ended up as a news item or find a mention in local newspapers. Our friend from the ashram was conspicuous by his absence, he did not show up at all!

Below is Bhinna Ashtakavarga table for Natal chart with table without reductions, trikona reductions and then finally on extreme right with ekadhipatya reductions

missing person N bavg

I am posting birth chart, the horary chart, dasa chart and solar return chart. Birth time has been altered to conceal the real birth time. Suffice it to say that it was a Dwijanma year from him with the ascendant in solar return matching with his natal ascendant. If anything that could possibly go wrong with transits, it had gone wrong for this gentleman. For those wondering how I calculated troublesome Nakshatra’s? The math is very simple. Simply check the Bhinna Astakavarga bindu’s of house sixth from Saturn in Saturn’s own Ashtakavarga. Multiply this figure with Sodhya Pinda of Saturn. Divide this product with 27 and find the remainder, the remainder will indicate the Nakshatra counted from Ashwini onward. Of particular mention is Purva Phalguni where transit Mars was located on the day of judgement. Whenever Malefic planets transit thru such sensitive Nakshatra’s in a native’s chart, the native suffers ill effects.

Saturn in his natal chart is in the sign of Aquarius, so, taking the sixth sign therefrom Saturn has 4 bindu’s in Cancer. Saturn’s Sodhya Pinda is 183. So, 183 x 4= 732. Divide 732 by 27 and we have 27 as quotient and 3 as remainder. Counting 3rd as starting Nakshatra from Ashwini we have the following list of Nakshatra’s which can bring trouble for him -Krittika, Punarvasu, Purva Phalguni, Swati, Moola, Dhanishta and so on.

Transits on the day of judgement – May 24, 2012 – the day when case was presented before yours truly. On this day Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter were in Krittika. Mars was transiting thru Purva Phalguni.

transits on day of judgement Bhinna Ashtakavarga of Natal – check the 11th house (in SAV), it has a massive score of 50!! Such charts are rare to come by.

Sankranti Dosha – A Case Study

Horoscope Case Study

How Sankranti Dosha afflicts a person?

Sankranti means Solar ingress into a Zodiac Sign defined by Vedic Sidereal Zodiac.

Sankranti is the time when Sun has entered the sign and resides in the first degree of the sign (0 to 1 deg). Find the Vedic Week day on which the Sun enters zero degrees of a zodiac sign. That entire day will have Sankranti Dosha [Dosha – Affliction]. The Vedic day in which this happens is relevant causing seven types of Sankranti.

Sankara also is the name for Lord Shiva, and hence Sankranti refers to the ire of Shiva, in his various forms. We may hence infer that Sankranti makes the planet [graha] which lords the day of birth inauspicious, and the native suffers the anger of Shiva. For this reason we must study the lordships of that graha in the horoscope and decide the negative circumstances arising out of this.

For instance Sun entered Pisces on March 14, 2016 and around 11:30 Hrs IST, Sun was just few minutes into Pisces. The Vedic Day was Monday, hence Moon for a native born on this day will cause ire of Shiva. Note that Moon was also in the sign of Taurus and exalted for practical purposes. But, being on a day of Sankranti Dosha, Moon cannot bring good results for the native. Charts will be posted at the end of this lesson for study purposes. This is exactly why new ventures are delayed by few days, if needed, to ward of misfortunes in a chart. However, we cannot delay a child birth.

P Sankranti 2016

Seven different forms of Lord Shiva related to seven different Vedic Weekdays are

  1. Sunday – Ghora
  2. Monday – Dhvanksi
  3. Tuesday – Mahodari
  4. Wednesday – Manda
  5. Thursday – Mandakini
  6. Friday – Mishra
  7. Saturday – Rakshasi.

As a remedial measure an idol of appropriate form of Shiva is worshiped, details are outside the scope of discussion here.

Some real life cases are mentioned below:

First Chart:

This horoscope belongs to a lady who suffered night blindness from childhood and progressive myopia later. Several surgical procedures including Radial Keratomy could not correct her problem. Sadly no astrologer recommended remedies and now it is already too late. Sun in her chart is 0deg 39min 28sec into Sagittarius. The lady has barely any vision right now and totally blind during night time!

S dosha

The Vedic Weekday was a Tuesday, hence this was Mahodari Sankranti. Mars in her chart lords the 4th and 11th house. She barely moves out of her house, has very few friends. Luckily for her, she has extremely caring husband and a son who takes care for her.

Second Chart:

Sankranti 2

*Birth details omitted for privacy concerns.

As you can see Sun is 0deg 25sec into Capricorn. This lady was born on a Tuesday Vedic Day, hence this was once again Mahodari Sankranti. Mars is in the 5th house. Mars lords 4th and 9th house. Her mother suffered a severe concussion to her head and bled internally. She had to undergo open skull surgery to save her life. Her father too is suffering from severe illness. She belongs to a community where horoscopes are never consulted, hence no remedies were performed.

Third Chart:

Sankranti 3

*Birth details omitted for privacy concerns

As you can see Sun is at 0deg 8min into Leo, the chart belongs to an Autistic Boy. The Vedic Weekday was a Monday, hence this was Dhvanski Sankranti. Moon as the lord of Monday is debilitated in the eight house Scorpio. Moon lords the fourth house in his chart. His house was practically destroyed when floods inundated his residence!

Fourth Chart

S dosha 4

Sun is 0deg 56sec into Scorpio, the Vedic Weekday was a Friday, hence this was Mishra Sankranti. Venus is the lord of Ascendant and sixth house, Venus occupies sixth house. Native has been into successive abusive relationships leading to severe depression.

Without consulting Vedic Panchanga – the Vedic Almanac it is impossible to judge horoscopes. Schedule a consultation by contacting yours truly.

Tattva Dosha – A case study

Horoscope Case StudyHow elective surgery can go wrong?

Basic step taught to a Vedic Astrology Student is to check the Panchanga or Vedic Almanac for the day of birth and then proceed further with study of chart. Vedic Panchanga can offer valuable clues. For instance a person born on a Tithi (Lunar Date) and on a Vaara or Vedic Weekday, when both of these have identical lordship a unique affliction arises. Since Vedic Weekday is defined from Sunrise to next Sunrise, the Element is thus Agni or Fire. Tithi is a Lunar Date and defined as angular distance between Sun and Moon (in multiples of 12 deg), the Element is thus Water. When water and fire combine on a day, an elemental dosha or affliction arises. In all cases the mother of the native was under depression and in much pain during birth of the native. The affected Zodiac Sign and house is defined by the rulership of concerned Tithi/Vaara. This is better explained by an example chart below –

The native was born on Shukla Dwitiya or the second lunar date in the bright half and on a Monday, both these are ruled by Moon. Since Moon rules one Zodiac Sign – Cancer is afflicted and then the sign occupied by Moon. The natal chart has Cancer as ascendant with the ascendant lord debilitated in the 5th house along with Sun, Mars and Mercury. Saturn is in ascendant, North Node Rahu occupies fourth house, Venus in the sixth house, South Node Ketu in the tenth house and a retrograde Jupiter in the eleventh house.

ES natal

Varsha Tajaka Chart

As if this wasn’t enough, the native decided to go for an elective surgery without consulting a Vedic Astrologer. He however, approached yours truly, having suffered more than a month after what was supposed to be a simple procedure.

ES solar return

Let us look at the Varsha Pravesha chart (above) for the native. This was a Dwijanma year for the native, which means Solar return chart has the same Ascendant Zodiac sign as natal sign. Dwijanma means twice born, which causes difficulties through the year. The profected ascendant or Muntha had traveled to the fourth house, causing property related matters and travel to be at the center stage.

Varshesh or year lord is Moon once again. Jupiter occupies second house, Rahu, Mars and Venus in the third, fifth house has Sun, Mercury and Saturn, ninth house has Ketu, and tenth house has Moon. The native ended up being at the wrong end of the stick and suffered heavily, necessitating another two rounds of surgeries to arrest swelling and septicemia.

ES surgery date

Chart for day of surgery above is self explanatory. The day was a Wednesday with Lord of the day Mercury debilitated in the 7th house Pisces. Without consulting Vedic Panchanga it is difficult to give correct predictions.

Case of a Mute Boy

mute boy

Case of a Mute Boy

mute child

So, what is it that encourages us to speak? The answer in Vedic Astrology is little different – Check Mercury in a horoscope, the second house therefrom is what encourages us to speak.

Additional rules –
• Can native learn how to speak? – see fourth house!
• Is he able to digest all that he hears? – see the eleventh house.
• Is he able to practice what he has learned? – see the second house!

Parents of the child referred this case when the child was almost two years old. Ascendant in this case was Taurus with Jupiter and Saturn – both retrograde. An exalted Rahu in the second, Mars in Libra, Debilitated Moon in the 7th house, Ketu in the 8th. Sun, Mercury, Gulika and Mandi are in the 9th sign – badhaka house for Taurus ascendant. Venus is in the 10th house.

Vimsottari Dasa:

Merc MD: 1996-03-04 – 2013-03-04

Jup: 2008-03-19 – 2010-06-27
Sat: 2010-06-27 – 2013-03-04

Sun as the Lord of 4th house is at 6 deg 27 min and Gulika is at 5 deg 4 min – a pretty close conjunction. Second from Mercury is the lagna lord himself. The child was mute as in mute – the child was struggling to force speech, but could not.

When parents approached me both Rahu and Retrograde Saturn were transiting thru Taurus. Badhakesh [Lord of Badhaka Sign] is in the ascendant. Parents were advised suitable remedies and the boy gradually developed some amount of speech six months later

Secrets to Marital Bonding

Secrets to Matiral BondingWhy a couple considers Marital Bond?

Couple meets, greets each other – falls in love, start staying together – not very surprisingly each discover strange truths (later) why the other half was attracted? Sometimes it is all too very strange to discover that all that a partner is interested in property a person owns? Luxuries? Status?

Is it possible to know what the other half is interested before getting hitched? Vedic Astrology has the perfect answer. To discover/judge we need horoscope of both girl and boy

Below are charts of a couple and the girl married the boy just because she envied his father’s status in society and wealth associated with it.

Girl’s Chart – Upa Pada Lagna or UL is in the 8th sign of Cancer, Moon as the Lord of Cancer is in the sign of Capricorn – to know what interested the girl – we look at the same sign in Boy’s horoscope

Girl

Boy’s Chart – Capricorn is the 5th sign in his chart. We have A9 and SL in the same sign – A9 is the image of the 9th house related to father and SL is Sri Lagna – a point calculated to see blessings of the Wealth Goddess – Lakshmi – so, the girl was interested in wealth and status of the boy’s father. The boy’s father was at the top most position in police department at state level

Boy

What about the boy?

UL in his chart is in the sign of Sagittarius – Jupiter as the lord of Sagittatius is in the sign of Cancer. We look at Cancer in girl’s chart – Cancer in the girl’s chart has nothing but UL, so, the boy was interested in the girl and her caring nature.

Isn’t this amazing?? Vedic Astrology can really spill the beans

Above charts were referred to me when the couple was close to divorce. When confronted with the truth, the couple admitted to what was revealed by their individual charts.

Advice given to boy: Get a job abroad where he can earn good salary. The couple is happily married, have a child and now have a house of their own
